Under the management of Ricardo Kimaid Junior, Galeria Movimento emerges as a space destined to share the creative process of both rising and established artists. It holds a space of 1500 sqm and an archive coined from the intersection of many generations, always valuing the language’s quality and the diversity of new aesthetic perspectives.
Founded in 2007, the gallery holds exhibitions annually in order to launch, not without a thorough support of curators, new critical perspectives on the contemporary artistic output. As part of the art democratization process, the gallery launched Programa Mútiplos (Multiple program) in 2014, building access to works by new audiences and promoting art collecting through the launch of engravings and serialized objects. In 2017, two new programs were launched: Mover-se (Moving) and Vitrine Movimento (Movimento Display Window). Both being special projects, the former was created to annually host group shows, presenting an assortment of artists not originally featured in its cast, and the later aimed to create poetry from the exhibition space itself, inviting artists to develop in situ projects, creating works which dialogue with the site’s physical aspects, therefore with the display window, where new connections with the audience may be encouraged.
Movimento understands its role of art promoter and is thrilled to be a platform for future material testimonies throughout artistic experience.
